Peoples Ford Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia were thrilled to be crowned 2024 British Champions on Saturday 8th June, for the first time since 1986, under the late PM Bob Martin.
It was a day of challenging weather conditions, with the bands dodging heavy showers throughout the afternoon. A huge downpour just before we entered final tuning meant we only had a short build up before the performance. We played our "big MSR", John McFadyen of Melfort, Cabar Feidh and the Sheepwife and achieved two firsts for piping, 2nd for drumming and 1st for ensemble.
Our Novice Juvenile B band placed a very respectable 9th out of 16 bands on what was their first championship outing of the season, with a 4th place in drumming.
A recording of the performance is below, with thanks as ever to dronechorus for the superb quality.
Congratulations to Mick O'Neill and Police Scotland Fife for winning the drumming, and to all the other prize winners.
A very limited number of tickets remain for our pre-Worlds concert Cabar Feidh, which can be purchased here: https://tickets.glasgowlife.org.uk/32748/32749
