Since 2014, Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band has been sponsored by one of the UK’s leading vehicle dealerships, Peoples Ford. The two brands have been closely associated for 30 years since the band performed at the opening of the first Peoples Ford dealership in Bathgate.
The sponsorship provides an enormous financial boost for the band and helps to support the ongoing development of our piping and drumming tuition programme. This is particularly important, as we continue to field four competing bands.
At the time of the agreement of the initial sponsorship, P/M Ross Walker said: “We are incredibly excited by the sponsorship deal we have agreed with Peoples Ford. Peoples are a well known and well respected brand within the local community and beyond. This partnership has given us a financial boost that will not only help with day to day costs such as hall lets, transportation and uniforms but will provide financial stability to focus all our efforts on promoting excellence and attaining our ultimate goal of winning the World Pipe Band Championships.”
“Beyond that, the security this gives us in continuing to develop the next generation of young pipers and drummers from the local area is fantastic. As running costs continue to rise, this sponsorship will help us continue to deliver on our ethos of growing as many of our own players as possible from the practice chanter drum pad to the pinnacle of pipe band competition.”
“The band is delighted to be in partnership with an organisation as strong as Peoples Ford and competing as Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia in 2014 and beyond.”
Brian Gilda, Chairman of Peoples Ford said "I get lots of sponsorship requests but the reality is I can only participate in a selected few. This sponsorship is a thank you not only to Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia, a superb and proud band at all levels, but to my many friends and customers in West Lothian. The sponsorship for Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band is one of several sponsorships Peoples will make this year as part of its social responsibility policy."
