The Grade 1 band were delighted to accept an invitation to the Ortigueira Festival in northern Spain during gap in the RSPBA's competition calendar. From Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th July, the band performed throughout the festival including being the opening act on the main stage on Friday:
The band also played a variety of parades and street performances and even made the front page of the local newspaper!
At home, Jonathon Simpson and Andrew Hutton completed a whistle-stop tour of highland games this week. Jonathon took the overall prizes at South Uist Games, Benbecula’s Young Piper of the Year and North Uist Games. Andrew won C Grade Piobaireachd at Inveraray and Open March at South Uist. Ryan McCreadie enjoyed a successful day at Roseneath taking 3rd in the junior Piobaireachd.
All four of our bands now turn their attention to the Scottish Championships at Dumbarton on Saturday 27th July.
